Prototype Minimalist Sherlock Posters, based on ofalexandra's brilliant Sherlock book covers, seen here.  She made some lovely designs that looked like they could be converted into cross stitch patterns without too much fuss.  The symbols she chose were so elegant, in that simple, clever way.  I've had a lot of fun with this.

ASiP 2
Tried using the actors names as in ofalexandra's originals, but the names looked a bit cramped so for version 2 I tried the producers...

'Moffat and Gatiss' are much shorter, so I can fit in a larger text size. Still need to figure out the ampersand...

And a few deerstalkers for kicks!  These will eventually be used in a "Keep Calm and Text Sherlock" sign.

I am trying to source proper colored fabric for this little project. Dove Stitch looks like a good option, but until then the colored-floss-on-white works well enough.

Title: City of Shadowy Places
Rating/Warning: PG, none, but spoilers for Reichenbach
Characters/Genre: Lestrade-centric, Gen AU
Word count: roughly 1100 words
Prompt: From morganstuart's Monday request, "You know Moriarty's fairytale about "Sir Boast-A-Lot" that casts Lestrade as King Arthur? I'd love to see a story that runs with that Lestrade-as-Arthur theme somehow."  This theme ran away with my imagination and hasn't really come back.
Summary: The night before The Fall, Lestrade finds himself in a Reincarnation!AU where shadows think they're dragons, London thinks its Camelot, and Lestrade thinks he's losing his mind.  Featuring poetry by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

Disclaimer: I have no claim and take no credit for these characters of BBC Sherlock.  No profits made; only for entertainment.

So all of the knights went to King Arthur and said, “I don’t believe Sir Boast-a-lot’s stories! He’s just a big old liar who makes things up to make himself look good.”

And then even the King began to wonder...Collapse )

Title: Dialectic 102: Resolution
Characters: Gary/Rachel
Genre: Friendship, increasingly shippy
Fandom: Alphas
Word count: ~ 3000
Rating: PG-13 for Gary in Peril, Nina in Peril...just peril and violence, I guess.
Summary:  Trapped in the dark with bad guys breathing down their necks, Rachel and Gary have to think fast and cooperate in new ways.  Along the way, they see the face of a new opponent and push their own boundaries a little further.

Previously on Dialectic:

"I don't know her well enough to know that yet. It scares me." Her hand left his shoulder and there was a soft, familiar sound as she pushed her hair behind her ear. "You ready?"

"Yeah. Okay. Let's go."

Title: Challenge, Password, Countersign (Part 3 of the Antiphony Series)
Characters/Pairing: Rachel, Gary
Genre: Friendship, Pre-Ship
Fandom: Alphas
Word count: 1500
Rating: PG

Summary: "... a well-known sign-countersign was that used by the Allied forces on D-Day: the challenge was 'Flash;' the password, 'Thunder;' and the countersign (to challenge the person giving the first code word) was 'Welcome.'"  In which simple activities and conversations unlock potential, without either party quite recognizing it.

He glanced over his shoulder at her, eyebrows drawn a little in surprise. “Yeah, I-I could teach you.”Collapse )

Title: Ciphertext
Characters/Pairing: Rachel, Gary
Genre: Romance OMG
Word count: ~600
Rating: PG-13

Summary: In which Gary has just (somehow) confessed he has feelings for Rachel, and now she responds.  Then, some other stuff happens.  A fragment of a potential chapter for my Antiphony series, published because I kind of got Jossed and I don't know what to do with it.   Let's just say this takes place many months and plotlines down the road.  J.J. Abrams help me.

Reviews and concrit deeply, deeply appreciated.

She always listened when it mattered...Collapse )
